Checkpoint 53...

Checkpoint 53 is a group of people who pray together for people’s needs and is the vision of Stephen Goonery based around Isaiah 53:3-5 through which God spoke to him and showed him that He wanted to release His healing power to people that might never come through the door of a church building.

Encouraged by this, Stephen has sought to go out into the communities and town centres throughout our region on a regular basis. He offers to pray for people and takes a note of their names so that he can pass them on to his support team who pray that God will intervene and meet these people’s needs. Also since September 2006 Stephen has been working with Rohan Barton in Havant and Portsmouth and has networked with different churches in those areas where there have been many opportunities to pray for the sick and see people saved.

In addition to this there are practical needs being met, for example, helping with decorating, providing furniture and various other services.
